Microsoft is retiring Infopath

Some people have seen this application on their desktops and wondered what it is.  Maybe you clicked on it and went “Oh god whats this”.  Some of you maybe even playing around with it.  However, how useful is Infopath?

Well Microsoft has responded to forums and feedback regarding the product and have decided rather than offering and maintaining a seperate product for forms.  They are going to retire it.

Big Data and the Questions to Ask

Numberminds Big DataBig data is something that seems to be written everywhere.  Even the government has written a big document on the subject (well a number actually).  Data has been an increasing issue pretty much since the birth of the internet.  Let’s face it, that is all the internet is- lots of data being pinged from one side of the world to the other.  People working collaboratively on projects in multiple locations, companies being able to conduct their business with flexible working hours.  Blackberries, being given the humorous nickname of “Crackberries” because of people catching up on their emails at all hours (which led to some companies in Germany shutting down their mail servers out of hours so that they wouldn’t be liable for overtime)!

Numberminds given Small Business Specialist status from Microsoft

Microsoft_Logo_smallAs a Microsoft partner, Numberminds are always looking at their new software.  We have recently being awarded their “Small Business Specialist” service.  This is a great honour that we’ve worked hard to achieve and are pleased to have it on our website.

We are already offering training in Microsoft Office from versions 2003 to 2013 as well as other tools such as Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Office 365 and more.

What are XPS files and should I use them?

In short XPS (XML Paper Specification) is Microsoft’s version of PDF.
